The new traffic signal at Main Street and Highway 7 just to the north of the bridge is flashing red with four-way stop signs in place.
According to a post on the City of Harrison Facebook page, they remind motorist that it is the policy of the Arkansas Department of Transportation to have four-ways stops with traffic signals in a flash mode for at least a week or two, so drivers can get used to a signal change at the intersection.
The post adds that traffic in all directions will have to stop until ARDOT puts the signal into operation.
The bridge was opened last Friday after being closed for two and a half years for the construction of the new structure.
