According to a release from the Springfield police department, the suspect was later arrested in Ozark County by Missouri State Highway Patrol Troppers. The suspect’s name has not been released.
The suspect is alleged to have shot and killed 22-year-old Cody Martinez at a residence on Montclair Street.
This is the ninth homicide investigation in Springfield in 2026.
