32-year-old Richard Daniel Lackie is being held in the Marion County Detention Center on a charge of second-degree battery.

According to a probable cause affidavit released this week, the alleged assault occurred July 12. A Marion County deputy responding to the incident was reportedly flagged down by the juvenile victim and Lackie’s wife. Both told authorities Lackie had attacked the minor.

The victim told investigators Lackie punched him in the face before striking him in the side with a metal pipe approximately 16 inches long. The juvenile also alleged Lackie choked him and bit his hand.

According to the affidavit, another male who lived on the property intervened and broke up the altercation.
