According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 11:22 p.m. Friday on Missouri Route 376, about one mile west of Branson. Troopers reported that a car was traveling eastbound when it ran off the right side of the roadway, became airborne, struck a tree and came to rest.
The driver, identified only as a 60-year-old Branson man, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene just after midnight.
Troopers noted that next of kin have been notified. The fatality marks Troop D’s 98th traffic death of 2026.
