World Atlas recently published the list of the 10 biggest dams in the country, based on how much water can be held at total gross capacity.
A Lakes Region Dam made the list as Bull Shoals Dam, located between the communities of Bull Shoals and Lakeview in northern Arkansas, was ranked ninth.
According to the World Atlas listing, Bull Shoals is capable of holding around 1.9 trillion gallons of water at full capacity. That puts it over 7.5 trillion gallons behind the number one dam on the list, the Hoover Dam at the Arizona/Nevada Border, which lists a full capacity at 9.4 trillion gallons.
According to the World Atlas recap, Bull Shoals Lake has a storage capacity of 5,760,000 acre-feet through its span across Arkansas and Missouri.
