Funeral services for Wallace & Beth Fitzmorris will be Friday, October 16, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson with Pastor Monte Dunn officiating. Private burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
Wallace Hardy Fitzmorris was born on May 17, 1935 in New Orleans, LA to Hardy E. Fitzmorris and Rachel (nee Sharp) Fitzmorris and grew up in Covington, LA.
Mary Elizabeth (nee Barton) Fitzmorris was born on April 29, 1938 in Memphis, TN to Howard W. Barton, Sr. and Lona (nee Pruitt) Barton. Her father was a pastor and the vocation took the family across the south including Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
Wallace and Beth met at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA as undergraduate students. They were married on June 26, 1959.
Wallace worked in teaching in Mississippi and his job with the Department of the Army took the family around the United States to Alabama and Virginia as well as time spent in Tehran, Iran. Along with being a devoted wife and mother, Beth taught at their church’s preschool for a time in Virginia. Upon retirement, they returned to Alabama for a time and then settled in Covington, LA. When their daughter, Loretta decided to move to Branson after Covid, Wallace and Beth followed, moving to one of their favorite vacation destinations. They moved to Branson in June of 2021.
Wallace and Beth were faithful followers of Christ and had served in a travel ministry to build churches and been a part of Campers on Mission, repairing camps across Louisiana. Wallace was also gifted in woodworking, loved building furniture and was a handyman of all sorts. Beth enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts.
Beth entered into rest on October 9, 2026 at the age of 88. Wallace joined her in Heaven on October 11, 2026. He was 91.
They will be deeply missed by their daughters Karen Morgan and husband Brent of Montevallo, AL and Loretta Price of Hollister; along with their grandson, Justin Morgan. They are also survived by Wallace’s siblings, Lois Fitzmorris of Townsend, TN, Sandra Sharp of Bush, LA, and James Fitzmorris of Covington, LA and Beth’s brother, Howard Barton, Jr. of Livingston, LA. They were preceded in death by their parents; and Wallace’s sisters, Shirley McCann and Lynette Fitzmorris.
