Eric Brian Tate was born March 7th, 1973, to James Charles Tate and Janet Marie Juedes Tate. He attended school at Hollister, where he made lasting friendships with his classmates; among them were his closest friends Steven Crump, LeAnn Crum, Mary Kaneaster, Jason Webb, and many others, of whom he kept in close contact with over the years.
Eric enjoyed playing video games and watching classic sitcoms, and most of all, he was an avid fan of wrestling. Eric also had a work career, some highlights consisting of Granny’s, Dicks Band Stand, and Outback Steakhouse. Eric enjoyed being with his family and friends. Eric’s most favorite saying must have been, “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!!!” because Eric would say that same saying every time he would watch his wrestling.
Eric passed away on Thursday, August 27th, at Cox South Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father James Tate. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Janet Tate; older sister, Tammy Coffelt, and her husband, Charles; an older brother, Jeff Tate, and wife, Stephanie; nieces and a nephew; and great nieces and great nephews. Eric will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Eric’s life will be Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Mincy Full Gospel Church. Visitation will begin at 1 pm followed by the service at 2 pm with Pastor Scott Coffelt officiating.
