Much of southern Missouri and northern Arkansas will see widespread showers and thunderstorms today as a storm system moves through the Ozarks, bringing needed rainfall and setting the stage for a dramatic temperature drop later this week.
While widespread severe weather is not expected, the Storm Prediction Center does have the Ozarks at a Marginal Risk for some isolated storms.
Both the Branson and Harrison areas are expecting periods of showers and thunderstorms into Thursday prior to a strong cold front that will drop temperatures.
By Friday, highs will struggle to reach the low 60s, and gusty north winds could exceed 30 mph. Sunny skies and cooler temperatures are forecast for the weekend, with overnight lows dipping into the upper 30s and lower 40s across parts of the Ozarks.
