Tammy Raney, assistant coach for the team known as the Leadslingers, was a guest on Harrison’s Original KHOZ’s Around The Table last week to talk about the event.
The team is currently holding a fundraising raffle for a Rossi Model 92 .44 Magnum rifle with a 1776 emblem. Tickets are $10 each or six tickets for $50. The gun is on display at Golden Pawn and the winning ticket will be drawn during the Harrison Gun and Knife Show, which is coming up on November 7 and 8. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any member of the Leadslingers.
The Leadslingers will host an open house at Harrison Middle School on October 25 at 3:30 p.m. The open house is for any interested student between third and twelfth grade, as well as home school or private school students.
Students must provide their own guns for the team, and each team member is required to pass a hunter safety course. Raney noted that safety on the gun range is a priority, and each gun is inspected before being allowed on the field.
