Residents across the Lakes Region can expect another beautiful autumn day as unseasonably warm temperatures and dry conditions remain in place throughout southwest Missouri and northern Arkansas. Forecast highs will climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon, nearly 10 degrees above normal for late October.

Dry weather is expected to continue through much of the upcoming workweek, with highs remaining in the 70s and lower 80s through Thursday. Overnight temperatures will stay mild as well, generally falling into the lower to middle 50s.

Forecasters say while a slight chance of rain may develop on Tuesday, the next major opportunity for rain is expected to hold off until next weekend, when shower chances increase Friday night and Saturday. Until then, the continued lack of rainfall will do little to improve ongoing drought conditions affecting portions of the Ozarks.

After a stretch of cooler weather earlier this month, many areas will enjoy one more taste of late-summer warmth before November arrives next week.
