North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) recently welcomed Alexis Mallett, MD, to their General & Specialty Surgery team.
Mallett is a general surgeon with a focus on general, robotic, trauma, and breast surgery. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Central Arkansas for Medical Sciences before she completed her general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, according to NARMC’s press release.
“Dr. Mallett brings strong surgical training and a thoughtful approach to patient care that will complement our General & Specialty Surgery team,” NARMC’s Executive Director of Clinics Kortni Dixon said in the release.
Joining NARMC is like coming home for Mallet, who is a native of Flippin. Her own experiences as a patient contributed to her decision to pursue medicine and surgery, as well as the way she approaches patient care. She values communication throughout the surgical process and wants to help patients to know what to expect with their care.
“Providing excellent surgical care means taking the time to explain, answer questions and help patients feel comfortable with what comes next,” Mallet said in the release, adding that this is the kind of surgeon she aims to be.
While Mallet was in residency at Baylor, she was recognized with Chief of the Year, Outstanding Resident in Surgery and Resident Educator awards. She was elected by her peers to serve on the program’s Residency Council and represent the Department of Surgery on Baylor University Medical Center’s patient safety and quality council.
Referrals are required to schedule an appointment with Mallett, who will practice at NARMC’s General & Specialty Surgery Clinic. For more information, visit www.narmc.com/medical-team/alexis-mallett-md.
