David Wilson is more than just the IT guy for the City of Harrison.
Wilson recently opened Digital Preserves, a business for saving pictures and slides in a digital format. What began as a hobby has now expanded to helping others, Wilson said on Harrison’s Original KHOZ’s Around the Table on October 21.
“I enjoy helping people preserve memories of loved ones,” Wilson said.
Wilson converts printed photos, 35mm slides and 35mm negatives, then saves the images onto a USB drive, where they can be posted on social media or saved to phones or other devices.
“I have a simple lighting board I use,” Wilson said on Around The Table. “I can stick the negatives up to the lighting board. After that, I scan the image into one of the apps I use and save it.”
Wilson also offers colorization for black and white photos or photo restoration for an additional charge.
A price sheet with a list of services is available on Wilson’s DigitalPreservesAR Facebook page, or he can be reached at david@digitalpreservesar.com
