Mary Katherine Snapp was born on September 17, 1954 in Springfield, MO to Irven & Phoebe Snapp. She was raised in Branson and attended St. James Church and Branson Bible Church. Mary graduated from Branson High School in 1972.
On July 4, 1981, Mary married Charlie Scaggs. They made their home in Arkansas. In their free time, she and Charlie enjoyed deer hunting and fishing together.
After the death of Charlie and her father, Mary moved back to Southwest Missouri to help care for her mother. She had a caring nature and loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with family including inviting family to her company picnics, Sunday lunches, and trips with her mom, sisters or cousin Jess. Mary was also an avid reader and an animal lover, especially devoted to her dogs, Abby and Quin.
Mary passed away on October 20, 2026 at the age of 72 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irven & Phoebe Snapp, her husband, Charlie Scaggs and two sisters, Sherrie Bosworth and Susan Bearden.
She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Jerrie Wise (Larry) of Neosho, Kem Adams (Rick) of Springfield and Amy Whorton (John) of Ava, many nephews and nieces; her special cousin Jesse Hirahara as well as many other cousins, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 1:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory with funeral service following at 1:30 pm in the funeral home and Brian Chaney officiating. Burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
