Jeff Nielson discussed the future of the former Pace Industries building and the chamber’s attempt to interest other businesses in the property. Nielson stated that Pace still has an active lease on the property and has not responded to requests to discuss their plans for the building.
Nielson also discussed the progress of Provalus, stating that construction costs have increased since the original estimate. He mentioned the city looking into additional savings to help keep the costs close to the original estimates. They hope to have the full details on the funds within the next month with construction beginning shortly after that and lasting from six to nine months.
Nielson also talked about their relationship with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and their attempts to attract new business to the region.
