The proclamation came at the recommendation of Ward I Alderman Alex Williams, who also serves on the Branson Public Schools Board of Education. Alderman Williams joined Mayor Milton in honoring the student-athletes, coaches and school community for their outstanding achievement, with Head Football Coach Aaron Hafner accepting the proclamation on behalf of the team.
The recognition followed a dramatic 28-21 victory over the Logan-Rogersville High School Wildcats on Friday, Oct. 23, concluding an undefeated 6-0 conference season. Branson High School Football holds a perfect 18-0 record in OMC competition since the conference’s formation in 2024, and finished the regular season with an 8-1 overall record and eight consecutive victories heading into postseason competition.
Reading the proclamation, Mayor Milton recognized the team’s on-field accomplishments along with the countless hours of preparation, personal sacrifice and commitment demonstrated by the players and coaches. He also acknowledged the families, school staff and students who have worked to build a strong football tradition filled with Pirate pride.
“It’s a collective effort,” Hafner told the Board as he stepped up to receive the proclamation. He also took a moment to highlight the lessons football teaches young athletes about striving together toward a common goal. “It’s just like life. You have to lean on each other,” he said.
Following the presentation, Board members congratulated Hafner and encouraged the community to come out and support the Pirates as they host Willard High School in the opening round of the Class 5 District 6 playoffs Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at Pirate Stadium.
Along with the families, friends and fans celebrating this historic season, the City of Branson congratulates Coach Hafner, his coaching staff and the entire Pirates football team on their outstanding performance and third consecutive conference championship!
