Today, areas west of Highway 65 in Missouri continue under an Excessive Heat Warning while the 65 Corridor in Missouri and areas west in Arkansas are under a Heat Advisory.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s to around 100 with Heat Index Readings going as high as 110.

Safety reminders for heat safety include limiting outdoor activities, especially during the afternoon, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol or excessive caffeine, take frequent breaks in air-conditioned locations,
never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles, and check on elderly neighbors, family members, and others who may be vulnerable to heat-related illness.

Forecasters do see the Heatwave ending this week as a front will bring shower chances late Wednesday with cooler temperatures on Thursday.
