Katherine “Kathy” Ann Hagey, age 66, of Forsyth, Missouri, entered her heavenly home on September 15, 2026. She entered this life on December 4, 1959, the daughter of Herbert and Carolyn (Rich) Drew in Peoria, Illinois. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Ashton M. Hagey.
A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Kathy will be remembered for her generous heart, strong faith, and love for her family. Some of her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren and making memories with those she loved.
Kathy enjoyed reading and writing letters to relatives, always valuing the opportunity to stay connected with family near and far. She also loved traveling, cooking, and sewing whenever she was able. Throughout Kathy’s life, she worked as both a seamstress and mortician, careers that allowed her to use her talents and caring nature in service to others. She had a big heart and was known for opening her home to anyone in need. Kathy was always willing to lend a helping hand and cared deeply for the people around her.
She loved the Lord and carried her faith with her throughout her life. Kathy’s family finds peace in knowing she is now in her heavenly home and once again reunited with her beloved parents. The memories and love shared throughout Kathy’s life will be cherished by all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her son, John R. Hagey and wife, Kristina of Forsyth, Missouri; son, Kevin D. Hagey of Forsyth, Missouri; granddaughters: Taylor Brower, Emily Shipman, Madison Hagey, and Katie Wilburn; grandsons: Tyler Hagey and Tyce Hagey; as well as six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday, September 22, at The River Church, 10374 State Hwy 76, Forsyth, Missouri. Later, an additional celebration of life visitation will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 26, at The Carlton Center, McLeansboro, Illinois. Burial to follow in Oddfellows Cemetery, in McLeansboro. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kathy’s name may be made to Christian Action Ministries C.A.M.
