Magdalena Johanna (Stenzel) John was born on Oct 8, 1936 in Friedewalde, Germany. She was 7 years old when her family fled their home into West Germany at the end of WWII. The refugee town she grew up in is where she met Hans John who would become her husband. He joined the American Army and brought her and their two children to the United States in1964. In 1966 they welcomed another baby girl into the family. The majority of her life was spent traveling between countries in her younger years. Then when her children left home and Hans retired they traveled between States for Hans’ job.
Magdalena loved being active, socializing and entertaining. She loved her family and friends. And she loved her plants. She also loved music especially Daniel O’Donnell. Living in Branson provided a treasure trove of musical experiences for her.
Magdalena passed away at home with her son, daughter and grand daughter by her side on Sunday, September 6th, 2026. She was preceded by her husband in death by her husband Hans John and her youngest daughter Silvia (John) Walsh. She leaves behind her daughter Sabine (John) Charls, son Stephan John and his wife Janet, her brother Jochen Stenzel and his wife Christel, her grand daughter Eliana Walsh and other family members in Germany.
