Paulette Elizabeth Chaney, 88, of Saint Joe, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, at her home, with her husband and son by her side. She was born on July 31, 1938, in Saint Augustine, Florida, to Paul and Hazel (Rowe) Griner.

Paulette was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Melvin Chaney, building a life filled with family, love, and countless memories.

Earlier in life, Paulette worked as a clerk for several different businesses. She was a hardworking woman who took pride in the life she built and the family she cared for so deeply.

Paulette found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She especially loved sitting on her porch, watching the deer and foxes that wandered nearby and taking in the beauty of the wildlife around her. She enjoyed watching all kinds of wildlife and appreciated the peaceful moments nature provided. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for those she loved. One of her favorite pastimes was playing solitaire, and most days you could find Paulette enjoying a game.

Above all else, Paulette treasured her family. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Paulette is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Melvin Chaney; her three children, Greg Chaney, Michelle Sutton, and Christopher Chaney; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hazel, and her three brothers.

Paulette will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and in the quiet moments she loved so much—the sound of wildlife nearby, the comfort of her home, a game of solitaire, and the love of the family who meant everything to her.
