The City of Branson has named a new city attorney.
On Monday, October 19th, the City of Branson publicly announced the official appointment of Thomas Kondro as their permanent city attorney. Kondro, the former assistant city attorney for the City of Branson, had been serving in the role of interim city attorney since August 2026, according to a release from the City of Branson.
“Thomas has demonstrated the integrity, sound judgment and commitment to public service that are essential to this position,” Branson Mayor Larry Milton said in the release. “He understands the legal challenges facing our municipal government and the importance of providing clear, practical guidance. We’re pleased to have him continue serving our community in this important role.”
With more than 15 years of legal experience, Kondro’s responsibilities as city attorney will include providing legal counsel to the mayor, board of alderman, city administrator and other city departments. He will additionally be responsible for reviewing contracts, ordinances and resolutions, advising on legal compliance, overseeing city prosecution, litigation and representing the city’s interests in all legal matters, according to a release from the City of Branson.
“I appreciate the confidence the board of aldermen and city leadership have placed in me,” Kondro said in the release. “It’s a privilege to serve the City of Branson, and I look forward to continuing to support the community and its leaders as we work to serve our residents, businesses and visitors.”
In addition to his time with the City of Branson, which also includes serving as their assistant city attorney, Kondro worked in the public-sector as an assistant attorney general for the State of Missouri and served in the Taney County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
A member of the Missouri Bar since 2010, Kondro earned his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he served as an executive editor of the law journal. He also received a bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University.
