In a statement posted on Facebook Wednesday, city officials said they have become aware of fraudulent emails targeting individuals who have recently submitted applications to the city’s Planning Commission or Historic Commission.
According to officials, the messages are designed to look official but are not being sent by the City of Harrison. Recipients are urged not to click on any links contained in the emails.
City officials advise anyone who receives a suspicious message claiming to be from the Planning Division to contact the city directly to verify its authenticity before taking any action.
The city continues to monitor the situation and is encouraging residents to remain cautious when responding to unsolicited emails requesting information or directing them to unfamiliar websites.
