Marcia Wynn (Johnston) Baysinger, lovingly known as “Granny,” passed away on November 3, 2026, at 1:08 a.m., at the age of 84, while in hospice care, surrounded by the love of her family.

Marcia was born on February 23, 1942, in Illinois, to the late Eveline (Purdon) Johnston and John Robert Johnston.

She was a woman whose life was defined by love, resilience, family, and a strength that could only be described as uniquely hers.

Marcia married Carroll Eugene Baysinger, affectionately known as “Poppy.” Together, they welcomed two children into the world, Beverly A. (Baysinger) Arrowood and John Andrew Baysinger, beginning a family legacy that would grow to span four generations.

Granny was blessed with five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Four generations of family and love were brought together through her, earning her the cherished name of “Granny” and a place in the hearts of so many.

Best known for being a very stubborn Irish woman with an incredibly loving heart, Granny had a personality that was just as memorable as the love she gave. She spent much of her working life at Baxter Lab, beginning in 1975, and dedicated her time to volunteering at Christian Clinic and local schools for her grandkids. Whether working, volunteering, or caring for her family, she always found ways to do so.

In her free time and throughout retirement, Granny’s favorite place was wherever her family was. She loved being surrounded by those she loved and looking after everyone. And if you knew Granny, you knew you better be careful, or she might just “kiss your whole face!”

When it came to her family, there was never a time she wouldn’t be there. She was proud of her children and the lives they built, always cheering them on and holding them close. She had a way of making her family feel protected, supported, and loved beyond measure. Her presence was constant, and her love was something her family could always count on.

Marcia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carroll Eugene “Poppy” Baysinger; her parents, Eveline and John Robert Johnston; and her brother, Robert “Burt” Johnston.

She leaves behind her two loving children, Beverly A. (Baysinger) Arrowood and her husband, Jerry, and John Andrew Baysinger; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren, along with extended family and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Granny may no longer be here to hold the world in her hands for her family, but the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created will live on through every generation that follows her.

Her family will be forever grateful to have had such an amazing, loving woman in their corner, cheering them on through every chapter of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas, in honor of the compassionate care and comfort they provided Marcia during her final days.

Forever held close in our hearts.

Thank you, Granny. XOXO. SWAK.
