Peggy Ann Van Gorkom, age 79, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at her home.
She was born January 8, 1947 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of James and Annie (May) Andrews. On December 9, 1966 in Fort Dodge she was united in marriage to Roger Van Gorkom, who preceded her in death on August 28, 2005. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, David Van Gorkom and an infant sister, Caren Andrews.
Surviving are her son, Rodney Van Gorkom and wife Rebecca of Seneca, Missouri; daughters, Rhonda Thomas and husband Jerry of Purdy, Missouri, and Robyn Nance and husband Carl of Cassville, Missouri; brother, Jimmy Andrews and wife Marla of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Seth Van Gorkom and wife Cloe, Eric Duncan and wife Erica, Kevin Duncan, Megan Handy and husband Blane, Shawn Nance and wife Bailey, Darren Nance and wife Amber, Lane Nance and wife Gracie, Logan Van Gorkom and Bella Folk and 20 great grandchildren.
Peggy grew up in Evanston, Iowa, and attended school and graduated from Fort Dodge High School. She and Roger moved to Cassville in 1983, coming from Monroe, Iowa. Together, they owned and operated Country Processing in Cassville for 22 years, and after Roger passed away Peggy continued running it for three more years. Peggy then worked in the deli at Walmart in Cassville and Monett for more than 10 years before joining the deli team at Ramey’s in Cassville and Monett, where she worked for a few more years before retiring. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and watching westerns. Some of her fondest memories were made spending time with her grandchildren, especially taking them fishing at the pond. Peggy was a member of Mill Street Church of Christ. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Mill Street Church of Christ in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Garret Akin and Stan Kelley will conduct the services. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
