Fifty-year-old Brandon Lee Oxford is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following his arrest in Baxter County.
According to a probable cause affidavit from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office reported by KTLO, authorities received information from the Barry County Sheriff’s Office indicating Oxford had been living with his girlfriend in Baxter County.
The affidavit states that during a compliance check at Oxford’s registered Missouri address, his brother told authorities Oxford had moved to Mountain Home about two months earlier.
Baxter County deputies subsequently went to the property where Oxford was reportedly staying. Investigators said they learned he had been living in a tent on the property. Deputies reported finding multiple firearms inside the tent and a marijuana pipe in one of Oxford’s pockets.
Oxford is charged with one felony count of failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements and five felony counts of possession of firearms by certain persons. He also faces misdemeanor charges of having an incorrect permanent address on an identification card and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court records cited in the affidavit also seek a habitual-offender enhancement.
Oxford was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
Authorities identify Oxford as a Tier III registered sex offender in Missouri. His registration stems from convictions on two counts of first-degree child molestation involving a seven-year-old girl. The offense occurred in 1998, when Oxford was 22 years old.
